Black Friday is in 11 days! You know what this means--getting up at 3:00 am, grabbing coffee, and fighting over a scarf in a department store. I’m joking. Don’t fight anyone.

But really, Black Friday can get a little overwhelming. Millions of people go out shopping across the United States and stores become crowded. While internet shopping is the best solution to avoid fighting those lines, sometimes you just have to get those doorbusters. I get it, and after years of black Friday shopping,

1. Make a list of stores you want to go to. This is a lifesaver. You can always deviate from your list, but having a guideline is way better than getting to the mall and then trying to pick your must go to stores last minute. Trust me.
2. Look up sales ahead of time. Usually stores will put updates on their websites or send emails about their upcoming Black Friday deals. This will help you narrow down which stores have the best sales and will also help you pick out things you want to look for on the day of.
3. Bringc your friends and family! This one is huge for me. Black Friday can get really overwhelming but going with friends and family can totally change that. Bringing people with you makes it more fun and it gives you extra eyes to find things you’re looking for ;)
4. If you aren’t a coffee drinker, consider soda or tea. Anything with caffeine. Just do it. It's the legal drug of choice, and everyone will be doing it!
5. Buy something for yourself. A lot of people use Black Friday as an opportunity to get presents for the upcoming holidays. This is what I do, but I always make sure to get one thing for myself. Even if it’s just something small, it always makes the day even better.
